Does it help/work if you mount the filesystem with "user_xattr" option?

I'm sorry for the formatting, it seems awful. My first attempt to register a bug...

I'd be happy to have this issue resolved, because I'd like to make it possible to use Yocto on Guix, so that's the first step.

Fixed on the 'core-updates' branch with commit
11ae7e9e45153b63c4bcd1625a6156da512d65a7.

It will take a while before it shows up in the master branch though.
