FYI, module-init-tools fails to build from source, because
module-init-tools-3.16 is no longer present on the kernel.org mirror
network. This seems rather strange, given that 3.16 was released over
two years ago, and all the earlier versions are present.

I found it at
<http://mirror.linux.org.au/linux/utils/kernel/module-init-tools/module-init-tools-3.16.tar.bz2>
and
<http://ftp.be.debian.org/pub/linux/utils/kernel/module-init-tools/module-init-tools-3.16.tar.bz2>
with the same hash (0jxnz9ahfic79rp93l5wxcbgh4pkv85mwnjlbv1gz3jawv5cvwp1).

Commit 5d9cd70 adds these two mirrors, as a stop-gap measure.

Indeed. I haven’t found anything mentioning the removal of that
version, but it’d be great to know more about that...

Thanks,
Ludo’.

It appears that 'module-init-tools' is now a dead package, and its
successor is 'kmod', or so says a gentoo dev here:

Closing the bug, keeping in mind that we really need to add kmod.
